Floating tylo larvae

I've just discovered that 7 of my tylo larvae are floating. They float with their belly up side down. What could be the reason? Is it something to worry about? What can I do about it?

can you see a gas bubble in their belly? if its a bubble they may be able to pass it, will they revert over if poked? i did see an account of a gas bubble cause by worms in the amphibian husbandry book, are these kept in the same water as the WC parents? -or did they ever get some water from the parents tank? what stage are these guys at?

They have gas bubbles in the belly. I give them tubifex as food. It is very hard to find other food in this season.
Do you think they will pass the gas?

Hi,
My larvae and even the adults sometimes get air stuck in their intestine(as do humans..). Problem for the larvae is that they'll float, fortunately we don't ;)

I just ignore it and in a day or two they will all be normal again. Since they don't actively swallow gas it is most probably caused by increased bacterial activity in the intestine - perhaps due to a change in temperature or a heavy feeding etc.
