Floating?

Hey everybody, i was just wondering what the cause was for a floating axolotl? Gas or something?

if your axie gets blotud/swallows air.

all sorts really- mainly heat and swallowed air. constant floating can be a sign of other illnesses though

My axie is floating, but only a little bit every now and then. What should i do?

he probably just took in some air, if you are worried rub his tummy gently (if he'll let you lol) and even if he doesnt he'll probably still let out the air. my axies float a couple of times a day but only after a nice gulp of air and they soon let it out.

Mine is also floating; he is floating on his side; not sure he can even get to the bottom of the tank. He is gulping lots of air. What causes him to gulp the air? Lori

floating on his side- not good, fridge for him and shallow water. they gulp air for their rudimentary lungs (sp?)

i wouldnt be worried about the gulping of the air just yet, i'd be more worried about the floating. I hope he's ok Lori.

I have been talking with you in the "beginners" forum about George not eating. I put him in shallow water last night in a container on the counter, hoping I could get him to eat before the frig. No luck. He was really bloated and floating this morning so I rubbed his stomach and he let out lots of air. But, when I found him this morning, looks like he spent the night on his side floating. Scared me, thought I lost him. He cannot right himself. So, he's back in the frig. Hoping when I get home from work, he'll at least not be floating on his side! Besides the frig, any other ideas. Lori
