Hi,

Almost all of my axolotls has passed away the last 2 years from the same bullshit. Fluid Retention.
Have 2 left now, one of them has..fluid retention. I could not get proper insurance even if I wanted to 7-8 years ago,
and operations are more costly than what I totally owns.

Does anybody knows where this build-up in the body is? Could I possibly put a sterile needle to the male axolotls
side, so that the fluids gets out? Or just kill him like the rest?

use 100% holtfreters solution (may need to increase to amphibian ringers solution levels) holtfreters info here.. Axolotls - Requirements & Water Conditions in Captivity I've added amphibian formulary which has ARS description/ingredients.
what food are they being given.
what is your waters ph, kh, gh.
if the edema is caused by osmosis the 100% holtfreters/ARS will help reduce the retained fluid and using 50% holtfreters will help reduce re-occurrences, if the cause of the edema is organ issues a change of diet will also be required with the hope that the damage is reversible.
