Fluval plus filter

im buying new filter pads on ebay for a fluval plus filter but there are polyester and foam ones. which ones should i go for?
if i was getting them from a pet shop id know by the look of them which to get but i cant really tell from the picture they have on ebay.
also what are these carbon ones for? are they worth getting anyway?

should i get both polyester and foam and put them all in? and carbon?

i've got a fluval 2 plus filter and use all three. the instruction booklet that came with mine is rubbish! not clear at all.
originally i only had polyester and foam, but added carbon a couple of weeks ago to sort a water colour problem out. its working really well at the mo.

so do i put two of each in? will they all fit?

one of each in mine. don't know if i'm supposed to, but its working fine and my water has cleared up a treat. your fluval filter might not be the same as mine though. there are quite a few different types.
