Hi everyone, I have been wanting to upgrade the tank for my N. Stranchii from their current basic, minimalistic setup to something more visually appealing and I recently found the T-rex foam "rainforest rapids" setup for 20 gallon tanks on sale and could not resist. It looks pretty cool once some live plants are added to it; and no substrate is required  Does anyone have experience with this product? I thought this be a good choice for my 4 juvenile N. Strauchii once some rocks are added and a water pump since it does incorporate a stream/waterfall with lots of hides on land and underwater similar to their native environment; any thoughts on this? I suppose if it does not work out I can try putting my Dwarf African clawed frogs, juvenile Paramesotriton, or juvenile C.Cyanurus in it instead. Feedback is welcome.

This is a great product, but some of the problems i ran into were my salamanders going behind the foam. Also it is a filter so it starts to stink after a while. They have to be competely taken out if something happens to your pump. They look good but it adds up to more work then watching.

I suppose it would be fine...though sometimes these things are a bit klutzy and effectively reduce the floor space in the tank. the main thing would be to ensure that the newts can't get trapped behind the foam wall somehow.
