Hi all quick question. One of my little guys has suffered a wound to his foot and lost some skin from around his front left foot. My question is should I salt bath him to help ward off infection and also the only tank I had to use as a hospital tank away from his friend isn't really large enough so how long do you think I should be able to keep him in it? He is about 5 inches long and the hospital tank is justices twice his length. Thanks for any help.

Don't salt bath him. Salt bath is only a treatment and not a preventative. The hospital tank should be fine as long as you keep your levels in check. Mind you of the other axie you have (I'm assuming that's what gave it to him) doesn't seem to nip at all anymore than it'll be fine in the same tank.

Thanks for the swift reply. I'm pretty sure the injury was from his tank mate so might try adding some more hiding places for when the get reunited. Wondering if it's something to do with they seem to be in their 'horny' phase time of year as I've seen some manly deposits about the tank so I know at least one of them is male.

i had my axolotl get her foot caught in the filter intake, it broke the leg and skin, not much that could be done unfortunately she went into hospital tank, lucky they have regenerative properties the leg fell off and is regrowing now
