Three teensy tiny Neon Tetras came along with some plants and a few ghost shrimp that I placed in the axolotl tank. The neon tetras are growing and have not yet been eaten, although I believe the ghost shrimp to be dinner already.

Are they ok to leave? I'm not worried about their demise, just worried about the axolotls. My son is going to kill me for saying that.

It is amazing how like neon tetras baby white cloud mountain minnows look and these are more likely to come in as eggs on plants! Yes they are OK to leave and because they tend to stay at the top may survive.

The only potential problem I could think of would be the possibility of them bringing some kind of infection into the tank if not quarantined. But if they appear healthy and they didn't come from a nasty tank where you got them then they are probably fine.
