Wow! There are thousand of baby school prawns in the canal outside where I live. I go down with my little net and catch one or two for my axolotl Moreton. He devours them so quickly. I haven't had any luck finding garden worms lately as it has been too cold so these add a bit of variety to his diet. :D
 
My axolotls love a bit of prawn. Just be careful with catching them from the wild. You don't want to give your axie any nasty tummy upset or worse.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
