I have just started building a frogroom to house my dart frogs, tree frogs , tarantulas, yellow bellied toads and live food. My son build me a racking system for three triple Viv's, out of shot are three triple racks which will hold 3 ft tanks. Hopefully the lighting system will be sorted out over the next couple of days and I can start planting them up. I have red eyed tree frogs and golden mantellas on order for next year so want to get their Viv's well established before they arrive. Will update the photos as my build progresses.

Looks good! I'm doing something similar also. What species do you keep?

Some pics of the Viv's planted. I have a pair of D.t.Alan is in one atm, I'm just waiting for the sliding glass doors to be siliconed to stop fruit flies escaping then I will put darts in the others.

Progress has been slower than I had hoped, I'm flat out working ATM. I have eight planted Viv's and a load more which require setting up. I have two vivs of H.azureaventris, one with my breeding adults and the other babies I'm growing on, a viv of E.tricolor which I raised from tads, a pair of D.t.Alan is in another viv and four more are on order from a breeder. I'm looking to increase my live food range, I have a couple of cockroach species on the go but need to get pea aphids, weavils etc to increase the variety of foods I can offer, its just finding the time.

Six vivs are well established now, have another ten waiting to be set up. Still busy on other projects so haven't spent as much time as I would have liked on this build.

Looks awesome mate :) I wish I had the space to do something similar.

Btw, I really did laugh out loud when I worked out what your new avatar was. Who Killed Bambi indeed!

What you have to do to get a frogroom is have a house big enough to hold a couple of kids. , wait for them to move out then annex their bedroom before the wife does. The kids and wife will whinge a bit but just hold firm and ride the wave of complaints and crying. You to can live the dream with a twenty year plan in place ?

Lol, way, way off topic I know, but you're the only other person, apart from me I've heard use the word 'annex' in that context, I think I must have picked it up from Eddie Hitler on the BBC comedy series 'Bottom'. I still thank Bottom and Blackadder for teaching me to be properly sarcastic and sardonic at quite a young age.

Sorry to derail the thread, couldn't help commenting. 8)

I was going to liken my annexation of my eldest boys bedroom to Hitler's push into Poland, frog lebensraum, but it may have caused offence to the more sensitive members of this group. 10/10 for watching bottom and Blackadder, try to get hold of Rick Mayalls " New Statesmen", it doesn't get shown on TV as you need to understand the politics of its time as Rick plays a corrupt mp, still worth watching though plus "The young ones".

Yes, WW2 did come to mind with me, as well. ;)

Filthy Rich and Catflap was another that's rarely re-run these days, nothing even comes close to Ade and Rik's suff all these years later.

Very good!

I am new to the forum, and try to get inspiration.

The climate in Brazil does not help me. I'll have to make a room with cooling or something, so I can keep most sensitive species.

The weather here was enough only for axolotls spawn today.

P.S .: excuse my english

Cool! It's nice to have a room, versus an entire house, which can happen. I have all of my frogs in a bathroom with a skylight. I have found that the 6500K light bulbs made a world of difference for my plants. Well I was going to post photos, but it is not as easy as I thought. Oh, might have figured it out. Reed frog tank and red eyed. Tree frogs are my favorite beings in existence.

Yeah, mixed species tanks are not a good idea, I could go on and on and on about why, but 8 will just link you to a handy dandy article instead
