Ok, I have a pond in the garden and have had tadpoles in there for years. Problem is there are loads of things eatin the tadpoles at the moment and none are surviving. So this year I am keeping a few in a tank and they have started gettin their front legs already! One though seems to have one front leg and a stump (???). Is this ok because it is the first time i've never kept them in the house before. The tadpole doesn't seem hurt or stressed though. Thanx for reading.

It might be a genetic defect. I have a toad who was born with only one eye and he does just fine.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
