Frogs

I have two African Dwarf Frogs and two Chinese Fire-Bellies. I have an appropriate set-up to keep both of them in, but I was wondering if it was safe to mix them. Any info?

Simple answer, no!
There is the risks of toxins killing each other, diseases spreading, temperature difference and one one will probably end up eating the other!

Theres an article on caudata culture on the disasters of mixing, I'll find it for you...

im not arguing that, as iam a fool on this particular subject, but i dont really beleive it is likely they will eat eachother, the FBT live aboe the water line, and the DAF below, the later are really to small to be a threat to the former, and the former is unlikely to forage on the bottom for food and find one of the latter.

even so, on top of toxins, diseases are also a threat.

i mix these, doesn't mean you should.}

Firebellies are greedy eaters, and eat anything that moves past. If a bit of fairy moss floats past, they will try and eat it. the dwarf clawed frog is bound to eventually get eaten when it surfaces for air.

I am one, who at a time in the distant past, found that Firebellies will definitely eat African Dwarf frogs. Please do not do this to those wonderful little acrobatic critters- get another aquarium for them.

Talking about different things here are you? Mitch is talking about fire-bellied toads and Mike's talking about fire-bellied newts.

I think the question is about the toad actually(subject named frogs..).
