Frond loss after fungus & salt baths

A few weeks ago our wild type must have gotten nipped during feeding as they had fungus growing on their tail end and a tiny bit on a gill stalk. We monitored the sites and performed daily water changes to be safe but over the week it worsened. We followed salt bath directions of 2 teaspoons per liter and 10 minute baths twice a day. The fungus disappeared in 3 days and we continued the baths for an additional 2 days - the last day was Saturday. Sunday we noticed the fronds were a little slimmer than the others and in the evening there were no fronds at all.

Otherwise he is active and eating - well, as active as any of the others! What has happened? We are also wondering if these will regenerate and if any special care is needed. We are continuing daily 50% water changes, the temperature is at 60F.

Salt baths are irritating and can damage the gills and skin. Should regenerate just fine as long as the water quality stays good.

Thanks for the response. We weren't aware that this could happen, seems everyone gives salt baths and we didn't read about it happening!
