Yesterday I had an enlightening experience while setting up another microworm culture. I got sick of seeing the yellow/tan colored media, so I did something about it. A few drops of food coloring and viola! I now have blue and green media for my cultures. Next time: orange. Have fun.

Ha ha! Aren't you worried about turning your larvae different colors from eating colored microworms?

If you want to play like that try adding a little paprika to the mix and see if the red colors intensify like in some anuran species.
