Fungal Patch on gill

As my luck has it I am currently in possession of my brothers wild type axolotl while he gets used to college life. She(he thinks its a boy but I say otherwise) has been with my two, same sized girls(about 10"), for well over a month now with no issues. It seems as though finally my brothers axolotl has gotten his first nip from on of my girls on one of her gills.

Now there is very little damage on the gill itself but it seems as though a small white fuzzy patch has started to grow(I only noticed it today). I can only assume from experience with fish that this is a fungal infection; I have seen it before on one of my axolotls toes when it was nipped to the bone but it healed up on its own. I'm not sure if it would be better to treat or just watch for a day or two and see if it heals up on its own.

My water parameters are all within normal ranges. Temp 68F, Nitrate 30, Nitrite 0, Ammonia 0, pH 7.2

I've never done fridging or salt baths and not sure if thats necessary. Would it be worth adding in aquarium salt to tank to help anyway?

A pic would help us see if it's worth doing salt baths, generally though fungus doesn't really go away on its own.

Don't add aquarium salt to your tank, I'm pretty sure it's not the right salt for fungus anyway and your axies won't like it much, it hurts their skin.

Sometimes the regrowth can appear pale, as can dead skin - we really need a picture to ascertain whether its fungus or not.

I guess I over reacted it appears to have fallen off, possibly just dead skin. Her gill looks a little mangled but not too bad. I'll keep a close eye on it and good to know not to add salt to the aquarium regardless.
