Hi,
We have a wild type axolotl and he has been having salt baths recently to get rid of the fungus which has appeared in a few places. The fungus is growing on him and a couple of salt baths and it dropped off a short time later. It keeps returning. In particular on the back of his head (white patch in the photo) and the end of his tail. One of his feet had the cotton wool fungus on it but it's gone now. We found one of our bloodworm bags had fuzzy bloodworm and bits of fuzzy stuff floating in it. This has now been thrown. The worrying thing is that we can't seem to shift this fungus...even with water changes everyday. Nitrates and nitrites are 0. He also seems to be a little bit off his food and not eating so much. There are many threads on fungus on here, including some on cotton wool fungus, but the general belief is that it should stop once the water parameters are OK. Ours are, but this fungus has been here for a couple of weeks.
