Hi everybody,

I found this website while surfing the web for help.

When I came home yesterday, I found my two axolotl's with a white fluffy "something" covering their eyes. Just their eyes. The day before they had nothing.

They eat well, seem fine, I tested the water (that was fine, just the hardness was off, I think it is too hard?).

Extra info: two males, 4 years old, 28 cm, their aquarium: 1m60-50cm-50cm, water: 20° Celsius.

They are getting salt bads and kept in quarantaine.

I'm sorry for my english.

Thanks in advance.

I would need to see a picture to get a better understanding of what you mean by "fluffy". White cotton-like strands would most likely be a fungus, but I don't know of any aquatic fungi that infects only the eyes. I once had an axolotl get a cloudy eye and appeared as if she was blind. I assume it was caused from physical damage (likely running into an object in the tank), and healed in a week or two. It is strange that all of your individuals were affected simultaneously.
