Fungus while in the fridge??

What other sort of things are in the fridge? And do you keep the container open or do you put a towel over it? Could possibly be that something in the fridge recently spoiled and ended up spreading something harmful.
 
No lights in the fridge
nothing else in there, i purchased the mini fridge just for them
 
I'm not sure what could have caused that, then. Unless your axolotl carried it from the tank to the fridge and only contracted it recently. Or if there's some sort of spore in the water supply.
 
Ever found furry chesse in a fridge? Mouldy fruit? Fungus will grow even at low temps.

It is likely that you axie had an injury and picked up some fungal spores in the wound, possibly before he went in th fridge, and the fungus just grew.

You just need to do salt baths until it is gone, and he should be fine - it doesn't look too bad.
