Illness/Sickness: Fungus?

Looking for help or words of advice please.
Noticed some strange cloudy goopy type of stuff in my axie tank sort of like cloudy mucus, this 'stuff' isn't on the axolotl and there are no signs of physical damage. If this can be treated by chemicals can tropical fish treatments be used? help

What are your water readings? - Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate etc...?

DO NOT USE CHEMICALS!!!

Many chemicals that are meant for fish are toxic to axies and should be avoided.

If you can post a photo of the 'stuff' we may be able to identify it and help you a bit more. Posting your water parameters would help too.

But generally anything that looks like algae, slime, gloop, wispy bits of stuff etc is usually down to a water quality issue and can be resolved by getting rid of what you can see and doing some water changes.

To be honest nitrite and nitrate are bad but they are coming down as i have been doing water changes recently and have added new live plants, the stuff is pretty hard to picture but i think you are both right that the problem is down to my water quality so to get rid of it all i have to do is continue with water changes and removing the cloudy slime as i see it.

What you need to do is do a big water change to decrease the nitrite, pick up all the plants and ornaments and clean the stuff thats underneath them.

After your big water change today, I would suggest a 20% water change every 2 days after that. Remember to use dechlorinated water.

How long has it been since you started up your tank?
Try and get some Seachem Prime as your dechlorinater
