pretty confident he has it but can anyone confirm that my little mudkip has fungus?
i fridged him immediately and he just got done with his first tea bath, currently in the fridge againyes i can confirm that that is indeed a fungus. i would recommend tea bathing.
did some reading and saw some saying fridging was really stressful, now acclimating him back to his tank (which has been cleaned with a 50% water change)i fridged him immediately and he just got done with his first tea bath, currently in the fridge again![]()
thank you! i’m 99% sure it was just because the tank was too warm (my mother raised the temperature upstairs) but will definitely be checking everything againFridging should only be used in life or death circumstances. For fungus, you should treat it with a tea bath twice per day for 15 minutes. The fungus will not go away unless the stressor is dealt with. I'd suggest checking your nitrates to make sure they're at <20ppm, along with the rest of your parameters.
alright thank youWhen the parameters are back in check, and the fungus has fallen off. Temperature: 60-68F, ammonia: 0ppm, nitrite: 0ppm, nitrate: <20ppm.
