Illness/Sickness: Funny eyelid/lens?

So my axolotl has been out of his tank, in a hospital tub for two months now. I took him out when I noticed he wasn't eating, as he is always keen for food. He was super red and veiny, and I thought his eye looked different, but didn't set off alarm bells.

I believe his illness was caused by an acidic pH spike. But over the time since he's been out of the tub, he's eaten three tiny JBL novo lotl pellets, if that.

Anyway, I noticed yesterday that one eye has a protruding eyelid/lens/cover whatever. The other is almost completely flat on his head, but this one sticks out alot. I don't think it stuck out like that when he first fell ill.

I've dealt with this before. I'm not saying this will happen to your axolotl but mine didn't end up too well.

I noticed the buldgy eye for a while and then over time she lost a lot of weight, refused to eat and lost her filaments and they looked thickened as well as extremely veiny. My other axolotl was unaffected. Beautiful gills, growing strong and all. Unfortunately I had to put her down as no vet was able to treat her.

That may or may not be the case for your axolotl... What are your parameters anyway?

I don't have high hopes for this one, still just hoping he'll come right.
He hasn't been in the tank for two months, but at the time, all was right except pH.
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: I forget the number, but it was definitely within the recommended safe levels.
Temperature wasn't particularly high or anything, cause it was pretty cold.
pH was between 6-6.5. I forget to test it cause usually never have problems. But once I saw it was quite off, I got it under control with water changes. One other axolotl showed slight signs of stress but came right quick enough. The rest are all right as rain now.

Yeah my girl was like that for a few months. She still was eating at first but losing weight then stopped eating all together. Maybe a vets opinion is best. I wish I could have

Aquatic axolotls don't have eyelids. Whiteness/cloudiness of the eye is often scaring from poor water quality, it clears up in time if they are kept in good conditions. Not sure if a pH spike would cause this though.

Yeah I've read that, but when you look at the eye straight on, it's still black and normal ish looking, but a bit pink round the outside. It doesn't make sense, cause it's shown up since being out of the tank, with daily water changes. The pH here is naturally at 7 or slightly above so I don't know what is causing it to show up

Also there is only one herp/exotic vet in the entire country, so I've emailed them for advice, but I'm not expecting much
