Okay so I haven't owned Axies for a few years now and I recently managed to get a few from an aquarium store in Perth, and I got another one from a lady who was given some eggs to raise. Any way my question is the 2 Albinos that I got from the aquarium have bump/pimple like skin where the black on from the breeder has smooth skin, is there something wrong with the albinos? or is that just the way they are? they look quiet beat up and nearly all their legs have been eaten off at some stage and grown back all funny or missing toes. ill try and post a photo but curious on what it could be Oh and thy are no longer on gravel that was temporary

The skin does look weird and the eyes are weird too. Hopefully they will get more normal with good care.

The eyes and gills went completely white after I put them in my tank, a few hours later after a feed they went pink again

Some people have reported similar skin conditions caused by sensitivity to aloe vera in some tap water conditioners.

I would say the best course of action is to keep them in very good conditions and avoid tap water conditioners with aloe vera, Hopefully they will improve under your care. :happy:

It may be the way they are to be honest, when they are albino or leucistic the bump skin is pretty noticeable. Pretty much you got yourself a set of adults because you can't really see the bumpy skin on babies. Aww their little legs....they will grow back.

I thought the may have been adults, they have darker toes which i read to be a sign of sexual maturity so they have to be at least a year or more in age, im thinking they are both female as they are quiet round and have no lumps behind their legs im trying to get a photo for opinion but they just swim away!
