Hi, I was just curious if axolotls are a species that have a different in male:female ratio? I've heard that in some animals it's a higher ratio of females.
I wondered because between my friend and I we don't have any males. I should say, I have 5 axies, 4 females, one undetermined since Apollo is like an inch and a half. My buddy has had much more than 5, and has only had one male from what I understand.

Hello,

I can bring an opposite testimony :
I once kept 6 youg axolotls. The results, 18 months after, was 5 males and 1 female.

Well, the sex-ration of axolotls is determined by chromosomes and is theoretically 1/1, but this value is effective only for huge numbers.
When you keep small numbers, you can obtain any random proportion.

I have far more males than females.
But in theory it should be 50/50.
