Well I ordered my melanoid axolotl today. He should be in by this coming wednesday. I'm so excited!! Now I'll have my golden and my melanoid (the golden is named Yoda and the melanoid will be named Darth Vader lol). But I'm so excited I can't wait!! I'll post pictures as soon as I get him (although he'll probably be in bad shape like my golden was when I got her).

Congrats Grant

I'm jealous. I wish I could just order one as well but I can't seem to find anyone in Australia that breeds them and ships them.

Pet shops here get their axies shipped from somewhere over East but I don't know if they will ship to personal buyers. I don't know the company name either.

I live in California so it is normally kind of hard to get axolotls (because they are illegal here). But my girlfriend works at a pet store

Maybe I'll try harassing the pet shops that import them from over east. Although it sounds like they just get batches of them, not individual orders.

Congrats Grant! post pics ASAP. I am very glad you were able to find one, they're so pretty to look at, but then again all of the different colors are

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
