Anyone please help... I've had my axolotl for about 7 months and I didn't change anything else but my axolotl gills are dying. But weirdly enough it's just one side and the other side is completely fine, hasn't changed at all... I did a massive water change right away. Help?

Wow, I haven't seen anything like it, and the gills on the other side seam to be in a good shape.
Can your axolotl have damaged itself on something?
Does it have any tank mates?
How is your filter? Can it have trapped it's gills in the water intake?
Can you post a picture from the side where its gills are damaged? It's quite hard to see.

He has no tank mates and the gills on the other side are perfectly fine. My assumption is he trapped food in them or something. My filter is barely on and his mood or appetite hasn't changed at all.
