There have been numerous sales posts about axolotls over the time I've been on this forum, and you can even acquire Axolotl eggs from breeders on this forum.

You're in luck! Pets on Broadway in NE Portland sells axolotls. They're grown already (7-8 inches) and the store doesn't really know the types so they sell melanoids as wild, but they're all right. They're fed sometimes on feeder fish, and I think they had some pebbles in the tank, but the ones I've gotten were healthy though they had past injuries and are a bit overcrowded. Considering the other environments I've seen axolotls sold in, they're better than most. Not the greatest, but they're pretty healthy otherwise, and right in Portland.
