Hi Everyone,

I'm a fourth year veterinary student and I would like to write my senior paper about axolotl husbandry and health care since I know that there are many veterinarians out there who don't even know what an axolotl is. This website has been an amazing resource for my personal axolotl care but for the paper I will need published works for sources. Any suggestions?

"Developmental Biology of the Axolotl" by Armstrong and Malacinski.

"Conservation status of the Genus Ambystoma in Michoacan, Mexico" by Dolores del Carmen Huacauz Elias.

"Axolotl" by Lolly Brown is a decent pet owners guide.

"Amphibian Medicine and Captive Husbandry" by Wright and Whitaker.

Try the Ambystoma Genetic Stock Center site at the University of Kentucky for lots of research and academic references. This will probably be your best resource with the most current information.

Thank you guys so much for your input!
