Grazed foot, not using the leg

One of my axolotl's has grazed her foot. I think I know the culprit, an ornament I was worried about putting in there for this reason. I usually keep in the center of the tank to prevent the need to "squeeze past" but it was near the tank wall when I noticed her foot. I should really have gone with my gut instinct that it might not be worth the risk.

She seems perfectly happy and is eating, but she isn't using the foot that has the injury on it. I can't see any sign of broken bones or anything like that, but she's keeping it pretty still as she moves about, holding it kind of to the side of her.

That's the main thing that's worrying me. Is it normal with a minor injury to stop using the foot at all until it heals? Or is it possible that she's injured it worse than I can see?

She will be fine, it's probably just a bit sore.

You know that axies heal very well, quite quickly and with no scars, so all you need to do is keep her clean and cool and watch for fungus or infection.
