Green aphids

has anyone had any success with white and green aphids as a food source i went to the country park today with my son and found leaves teeming with miniature green flies/ aphids i took about a dozen leaves home and im going to try feeding them to my palmate newts and my new banded newts think i may have to wait a day or two theyre all quite full of grub on the pluss side my palmate female has started laying also yeeeeayyy

I have used them to rear frehly morphed ensicauda popei a long time ago. I used to grow lupins in my garden and they would get covered in greenfly, i would cut of a stem and shake the greenfly into the tub.
I would be very careful about getting them from a source that is not in your control. Pestacides may have been used in the area and this could be fatal for your newts, i dont use any chemicals in my garden so i can use bugs that i find as food, but still with caution.

I use green fly to feed newly morphed newts etc. This year however I have seen hardly any in my garden, though I see a suspiciously large number ladybirds
