Green juvies(Notophthalmus)

So it only has a worthy impact on pre-metamorphosis animals?? So their coloration works pretty much like it does with Cynops.
If the effect on morphed animals is just a slight enhancement then i don´t think it´s really worth it either. The video was really interesting, thank you for posting it.

If it works with larvae i will give it a try though. I´ve had my Cynops orientalis morphing with fairly bright red bellies, but after some months they fade quite a bit....so it may be worth a try with the larvae i have right now.

You know you mentioned that with your Cynops orientalis will morph out with bright bellies and then it gradually fades, I wonder if you could use the carotene as a "maintenance" item. Meaning if you dusted their food items post morphing if it would help them keep their coloration. Food for thought I suppose.

You´re right, it may prevent them from losing colour. I´ll give it a try.
By the way, some of the Notos are clearly losing the green coloration, and are becoming brownish/reddish :)

They're very cute just the way they are ;) I hope you have good luck with them.
