Hi I am new on here, picking up 2 Axolotls this weekend to go in a 3ft tank that has been cycling for about 2 weeks!

I will no doubt be asking for help and advice on here, as it is my first foray into Axolotl ownership!!!

Brad.

Welcome to the forum, you'll find heaps of great information on here, have a snoop around and you'll find answers to almost anything.

When your little mate arrives, just keep a close eye on your water parameters cause your tank can take up to 6 weeks to cycle, and your axie is going to add a heap of waste once in there, trick is regular water changes and keep those readings down (Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0 & Nitrates < 40 ppm is what your aiming for). Do you have a test kit ? Most here recommend the API Freshwater Master Kit as it's easy and very accurate.

Look forward to some pics of your Axie when you get it

Thanks for the advice, my filter has been cycling in a friends guppy tank for 2 months and getting 2x juvenile Axolotls, that the person I am buying from has advised I keep in the containers they are supplying for at least a week. I will keep a close eye on the tank parameters (I do have a testing kit for my freshwater tropical fish tank) and make regular water changes when introduced. Any other info & advice greatly received. Ordered an air pump and spray bar today, if the Axolotls don't like it I will pop it in my trop tank.
