Hi I am new to the forum and axolotl's. I have just traded in my two Tarantula, a Chilean Rose and a Venezuelan Green Bottle Blue for two axolotl, a pink one and a darker one and am looking forward to caring for something slightly more demanding than spiders :)

I live in the UK and found a shop selling them for £12.50 ea one mile away from one selling them for £49.95 ea .

Anyone have any feeding tips for a beginner, as they certainly seem to have an appetite though I am unsure of the floating turtle foods I was recommended into buying.

Hello Steve,

Welcome to the forum.

Earthworms are the best staple diet for axolotls. On occasion you may wish to give the axolotls a treat, this article will assist in expanding the menu.

Please feel free to join us in the "Axolotl Section" of the forum, lots of excellent 'axolotl keeping tips' to be found there ;).
