Heather,
If you have any light source at all it is hard to kill java moss, java fern , or watersprite (there are others but these are old standbys for me).
Chip
hornwort and elodea. I've also had semi-good luck with the a sword plant of unknown species. Pothos and wandering jew/jenny/creeping charlie (not sure if all of these are exact same species, but they all look kinda the same to me) grow well without any help.
Sometimes you find elodea dying. Don't remove it. In my experience it revives once it gets used to the new conditions. Especially different lightning conditions have this effect on it.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
