Has Deimos something wrong with his hind legs?

I'm not an expert in this and hopefully someone whose seen this before can offer better insight. I remember reading on one of these threads that sometimes bacteria on the bottom of the tank can cause axolotls to lose their toes? what is your water quality like?
 
ok so i'll analyze the water, keep changing it frequently and see what happens..
 
I can't see any fungus, no need to treat it. The toes look like they have just regenerated funny after being lost or they just hatched like that.

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
