As part of any new forum I'd like to say hello. I live in Upstate New York and have many different sorts of animals since I was young. I have always heard of Axolotl's and seen a few years ago in a zoo. Until about 6 months ago I had never noticed them in any local pet stores. Saw a pair in an old shop I used to work for. Did my research and within two weeks I picked them both up. My daughter enjoys them and they are pretty cool creature to have. Look forward to getting to know you guys/gals.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
