Hi everyone

I joined this forum about five years ago when I acquired a baby axolotl. I figured it was about time I introduced myself and say I have learned a great deal from the wealth of knowledge here. I have recently become interested in breeding and I am currently raising up my first batch of ribbed newt babies. I am looking forward to trying my hand at breeding other species in the near future. Also I think that it is great how many other people out there share this great hobby!

Good luck with your breeding project! I won't say "welcome"since you've been a member so long :p

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
