Hey, my name's Daniel!
I'm new to owning newts, but I've owned a very wide array of animals over the years... Lizards, snakes, toads, frogs, crustaceans, fish, and of course cats, dogs, rats... Etc.
I recently purchased three oriental fire-bellies and they've been great so far- I only have a few concerns, but that's why I joined the forum!
I can't think of much to say, so I'll finish by saying that I'm fourteen and enjoy my animals, computer, and reading in my free time.
There are some very interesting emoticons on here. :kill:

(And yes, as the username suggests, I do have an afro... Maybe you could describe it as an exploding tumbleweed of hair.)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
