Im so happy to find this website! Ive been reading many threads and look forward to someday being able to contribute as well. There is such good experience and information to find here.

I will start raising axolotls next year, once I am fully prepared to provide the best care I can and have learned enough to launch into it with full confidence. I have kept a variety of reptiles and amphibians over the years, as well as fish. Axolotls will be new territory for me, but with thorough research and preparation Im sure Ill be successful.

I know Im not the only one completely enamored with those mystical little creatures. How they regenerate body parts, manage to live all their lives and even breed in a larval stage, the mysterious morphing into terrestrial form. Im saddened that they are in such peril in their natural habitat, maybe even extinct. Maybe there is something that can be done to help them?

At least they won't be completely lost to us, and Im glad that the world can experience these amazing creatures. Please send me a message, Id love to make friends. =)

Welcome to the forum! I always think of alpine newts as beautiful little jewels, so much color. Or tylos and some of the larger species as dinosaurs. Some of us have bred species that end up in zoos, I"m sure that's helpful. Welcome and jump in and best of luck!
