Hi! I'm Stella and I live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. I very badly would like to get an axolotl so I thought I'd join a community and do my research. I currently have 3 cats, a leopard gecko, and maybe still a corn snake somewhere in my apartment but I'm not sure if she's still there or even alive. Anyway I've wanted an axolotl for many years and only just now seriously looked into it. I'm not sure I can actually keep one because of how hot it gets here though :(

Welcome! There are a few ways to keep an axolotl in hot climates, I think I replied to another post of yours with some suggestions for you :)

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
