Hi!
I'm just getting back into keeping aquaric frogs, newts, and Axolotls. I had them years ago and I miss them. I had newts and Xenopus frogs since I was about 8 years old (I'm 46). I loved the newts. Firebellies (the small ones), Easterns, Oregons, etc. I can't believe how expensive they are now! Even 15 years ago, when I still worked in pet stores, I was selling them for no more than $4. Same with Axolotls. I bought an albino pair 20 years ago for $5 each from a store. Right now, I'm raising a couple of Xenopus and a few dwarves (separate, of course). I just ordered a batch of Axolotl eggs. Feeding the babies won't be a problem since I have been culturing Daphnia, scuds, and blackworms for the frogs (a couple of the dwarves are tiny). I'm still going to set up a brine shrimp hatchery for the bulk of the feedings.
Eventually, I want to get some more newts and possibly some salamanders.
