Hi everyone, name's Corey!

I'm new to Caudata, also quite new to phibs, ive been obsessed with newts and toads since I was a kid. I'm 19 now and finally bought my own fire bellies! (newts)

If I have any questions I'll be sure to throw them at you all, as I've noticed that the forum is populated by some pretty 'phib-smart' people!

Once again, HELLO!

Welcome! Fire-bellies are one of the most common "starter-newts." Soon you will graduate into a more expensive, harder-to-fill addiction. (evil laugh) Enjoy!

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
