Hello,
My name is Amber, im a Twenty something from Northern Illinois. Creatures that cohabit with me include, 1 daughter, 1 husband, 1 border mix, 2 house rabbits and multiple fish tanks with various residents. Im here to learn all I can about Axolotls before I commit to bringing one home!

Welcome to the group. I am also from Illinois. The hardest part of keeping a axolotl is temperature. Do you have a place that you can keep below 75 year round? Baring a basement, a small room with window AC is an option. They are also lots of newts out there. I have both.

I do have a basement that it would be able to go into, although the intent is to keep it in the livingroom because its where we hang out I suppose there could be a warm weather vacation tank for it to go into! Thanks for bringing that to my attention ahead of time!!
