There tank is currently cycling, and has been for around 2-3 weeks(tempture is around 17(20 at its hotest), i have been giving them regular water changes 20% every day ,
i am currently looking for a new filter and substrate.
i have a cheap filter at the moment. and lardge peaples on half of the tank ( one half empty for easyer cleaning)
also what shall i do to keep them cool during the summer time?

Hi Casper,
firstly have you done daily water changes on your tank while it is cycling?
If you are keeping your axies in the tank you should be removing 20/30% daily and replacing with dechlorinated water, this will lessen the affects on them.
You say you have been salt bathing for two weeks, do you use dechlorinated water? Is it changed after every bath? if so i would consider moving them to the fridge while you continue their treatment as this should help them recover quicker.
As for keeping them cool, i keep mine in the coolest part of the house, keep the curtains shut against sunlight and leave the window open.
By the way where in the uk are you located? just being nosey lol.

Cambridge , yes all water has been declornated, the main reason while the salt baths have been so long is that i missed around 2 days maybe 3 due to running out of salt ,
is changeing the water while cycling a bad idear?

thanks

Only if you remove to much, 20/30% is the reccommended amount for the tank.
You should use clean water everytime you salt bath.
