hi everyone!
my name is chloe and I am from northern california.
i will soon be the proud owner of a young leucistic axolotl and i couldn't be more excited!
i am here because i would like to learn all that i can about these amazing creatures before i actually own one.

does anyone have any tips that they could share with me about basic axolotl upkeep and tank setup?
i would much appreciate it.

Hello and Welcome to the site.
I also live in California (southern)
I'm curious on how you are obtaining the Axolotl?
I don't mean to disappoint you but Axolotls are illegal in California. I was looking into getting one, but once i joined the website i found out that they were illegal as i said, Its a shame there beautiful creatures and i wish they were legal to keep.
But don't be to disappointed there are other variety's of species besides the Ambystoma genus.

a friend of mine has been breeding them for the past year.
they are all well taken care of and i was told that she sold several to local pet shops.
i had no idea.

Yes sadly its true.
Some pet shops sell the, but it doesn't mean there legal.
