Hello. My name is Melody. I grew up in Orlando Florida and live in Riverview Florida. I have a couple of planted terrariums, and keep green tree frogs, anoles, rough green snakes and most recently chinese fire-bellly newts.

I am particularly interested in Eastern Newts. This is a pretty new world for me, so forgive me of any newt ignorance I may be guilty of. I am learning.

Thank you.

Eastern Newts do pretty well in an aquarium. They need about 1/2 the tank filled with water as well as a place were they can easily haul out of the water. A good tank cover is a must, otherwise they will climb out and die inside your house. The will eat both live and freeze dried food that is available from most pet stores. By Gregg L. Friedman MD
