Hi,

I'm Lauren, I live on the southeast coast of Australia (just south of Sydney). I have been reading this forum for a while but decided to join when we got our new little friends Fishlegs and Hiccup the aoxotls. We've been reading the How to Train Your Dragon books with our kids (who are 9 and 6 yrs old) hence the name choices

I'm a professional photographer so should be really embarrassed by the awful phone snaps I have taken of our little friends so far  I'll have to drag out a good camera sometime and do it properly before they are all grown up

(that's Hiccup in the front and Fishlegs behind)

Both are around 5 inches long so I have no idea how old that makes them, they're sweet little things, so curious and playful, they love climbing in their plants.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
