Hello! I just got my first axolotls this past weekend. This site has been instrumental in helping me set up their tanks. I got 1 albino, 1 wild type, and 1 leucistic. I have mostly kept reptiles, and a few frogs, but these will be my first newts/salamanders. I look forward to sharing pictures of Rikki (wild type) Tikki (albino) and Tavi (leucistic) as they grow.

Welcome to the forum :) Looking forward to seeing some photos!

Hey there! I totally agree their site is awesome. I'm a first time Axi owner too! I look forward to seeing pictures. I didn't have the opportunity to pick up an albino when I purchased my baby so I'm excited to see one growing!

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
