Hi, new here. Thought I would intro myself and jump in, though I have been voraciously devouring any and all info on Axols since I made the decision to track another one (or few) down a few weeks ago. Wanted to reacquaint myself with their proper care. I had one when I was in college about 20 years ago. Anyway, I will be getting my new babies next week

Congratulations! Tank's all properly cycled?

Oh yes!! the tank has been set up for almost 2 years, but until recently had fish in it...it's been empty of fish for about 2 weeks. It had a colony of feeder guppies in it, but I moved them to a 30 gallon hex.

Awesome! As long as it's cycled and kept relatively cool, it should be perfect for your axie. What's the substrate you're going to use, or are using?

well, I was told no sand until they are around 5 inches...but once they are it's sand for sure
