Help axalotl being sick :(

please help. my axalotl has bin sick he is still gagging and i dont know what to do. should i fridge him and if so what do i use??? i am totally new to this as ive only had him since may and this is the first time hes bin ill other than a bit of constipation. hes also holding himself strangely and not fully using one of his back legs properly. he was fine last night but really isnt himself today what can i do to help him??? please help

Hi Jodie.

What do you feed him? And what do you have in his tank?
As long as the water is clean and cool, he should be fine left as he is. Would you be able to take a picture of him and put it on here?

i feed him frozen bloodworm and fresh bloodworm and just alternate between them. i have tried him with pellets from the pet store as they have their own axalotl and said they were gud for varying his diet but he didnt like them. he has been sick again once since my last post and brought up sand and has perked back up just a bit concerned about 1 of his back legs as he is holding it up and not using it very much. but doesn't seem bothered by it. will get try and find my camera to get a picture.

I've just had this problem too. My axalotl was sick twice and kept gagging. I don't know why, he hasn't been fed for a couple of days and he has been fine. He's quite fat I don't know of that's a problem? But he has been for years. Another thing is he quite old do you know of that's a problem? (Anyone help please!!!)

He hasn't eaten in a couple of days, but is vomitting and gagging? Is he getting anything out, and does it resemble his last meal?

What are the water parameters (temperature, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH)?

What kind of substrate do you have in the tank? Specifically, do you have gravel that your axie could have eaten?

Are there any other symptoms? Has his behavior changes, Does he look wrong/different?

Can you post some pictures?
