Illness/Sickness: Help- Axies upside down, green bellies.

Hi,

Iv'e got 9 2 week old axies. Yesterday three of their tails were curved slightly and their gills looked shortened and thicker. Today two are submerged fully but upside down. These two have dark green in their bellies. The rest in the tank have altered gills and slightly curved tails now too that look like thin tissue at the end.
i do a 50% water change using 24h exposed water every two days. I feed them baby daphnia and there are two small water plants in there with them. The ph is fine as are nitrates...help!

What about ammonia? Do you have substrate? What is the temp and your setup

Hi, Having kept fish for a very long time I learned only last year that its not enough to leave water 24 hours for the chlorine to dissipate. They put chloramine in the drinking water these days. You need to buy some water conditioner to get rid of the chloramine. The good side of this is that it makes the water safe to use immediately. I am currently using Aqua One Health + Water Conditioner (good value). My 2 to 3 inch young axolotls are doing very well (so far!).
