I've found a tiger salamander in my basement after it flooded. However i have no food for him. Their is a blizzard outside (lots of snow) so i cannot travel and it is nearly below freezing in the basement. Should i put him back in the basement or what can i feed him in the meantime. I know that they eat crickets and so on. So i ordered some off the internet but they won't be here for a couple days to a week. I do not live near a city so i can't go to a pet store and get any crickets there.

A local bait shop or WalMart will have earthworms. He looks to be in good health, weight wise. Once the outside temperature has gone above freezing, you can release him back to the closest wooded area near your house. That is, providing you don't keep any other reptiles or amphibians.
